we can remember / love in the summer

a day where much was accomplished.
a cozy wakeup, a little tv and some breakfast, then headed downtown with john. some ass had stolen one of his bikes which sort of funked up the morning, but we pushed on. we went to the bridal shop where john has purchased his suit for our day. i wasnt wild about it until he tried it in a different color - this dark grey - and suddenly looking at him was like getting slapped with hotness. it is a tour de force of sexy. incredible. got him a shirt, vest and a tie to match. he will be so fancy in twentynine.

then we bought a gift for anne-marie and samuels wedding tomorrow. their apartment is going to be all designer. ralph lauren and royal copenhagen over det hele. i think i would be afraid to use my stuff if everything i owned was crazy expensive. maybe its just because im sure we will have three or four monkey babies climbing everywhere, hiding in cabinets and drooling on our stuff. i want nice things, but i want our place to feel lived in and cozy. i didnt register for any china or super fine stuff because...we have nowhere to put it...and i just dont see myself needing that stuff for a while. i dunno. fun to be on the walking street again, though. shops open, people everywhere, loads of little blonde babies in sun hats. this city is so special.

stopped in at a jeweler and found what might end up being johns wedding ring. ashamed that it has been delayed to this point but whatever. my guy is not one to push on the subject of male bling. its something he actively forgets to bring up. so now the wedding is a few weeks away. how embarrassing. but being in that store surrounded by all the different styles i had to appreciate my rings and silently congratulate myself on having the most beautiful set i have ever seen. not to offend the friends who have rings themselves. especially since i know none of them read this page. just saying.

on the way home, we saw johns bike - lock severed and all - leaning against a building one block from our place. wondering if thats where the jerk who took it lives? thought about doing some jennifer garner-inspired staking out to see if we could spot the culprit, but who has the time. all i will say is that karma is a beetch and bike theft will come around to bite you in the tush.

gotta run. mom-in-law sonja is on her way over and the place is trashed. wanted to stop by and drop off this song before cleaning and setting out some tea, though. thank me later.
